Ginger Essential Oil is derived from the Zingiber officinale plant, commonly known as ginger. Its name comes from the Tamil word "inji-ver," referring to the ginger plant, and the place "Gingi" in Tamil Nadu, India. The oil is obtained through steam distillation of the ground root, either unpeeled or dried. Known for its warming properties, it is especially helpful for digestion and relieving nausea and vomiting. Ginger oil has various therapeutic uses, such as treating fractures, easing pain from rheumatism, arthritis, and carbuncles, and alleviating symptoms of hangovers, motion sickness, colds, flu, sinusitis, sore throats, skin sores, diarrhea, colic, cramps, chills, and fever.
