Memorable moments

1909: We opened our doors under the name ‘Ladies Hosiery and Underwear Limited.

1919: The impressively priced five-shilling blouses were introduced and great value has been at our heart ever since.

1939: The trading name ‘Dorothy Perkins’ was adopted, inspired by a British rambling Rose.

1969: Beginning a six-year relationship with Biba, Dorothy Perkins bought a controlling stake in the famous company and co-funded the opening of ‘Big Biba’, an iconic store on Kensington High Street, complete with its own roof gardens and pink flamingos.

1993: The Dorothy Perkins Maternity range was introduced.

1994: We became one of the first companies to harness the power of celebrity by choosing Helena Christensen as the face of Dorothy Perkins. Yasmin Le Bon joined as another face of the brand in 1997.

1998: The Petite collection was launched.

1999: dorothyperkins.com opened for business.

2001: Our Tall range arrived.

2005: The first Dorothy Perkins TV advert was aired.

2012: We teamed up with sisters Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian to bring the exclusive ‘Kardashian Kollection’ to the UK.

2016: We introduced the DP Curve collection.

2021: Dorothy Perkins joined the boohoo family.
