What to Pack for a Holiday

Summer is fast approaching and we’re counting down the days until that out-of-office is on and we’re jetting off. Follow our packing survival guide for a stress-free lead up to your summer holiday.

You may have the holiday meticulously planned, but what about your outfits? Choosing what to wear and pack can be a stressful affair. You don’t want to over-pack and risk luggage fees but, equally,  the horror of under-packing… Running out of bikinis? Unthinkable!

Want to pack the best of your beachwear, maximise suitcase space and not leave one thing behind? Read on for our ultimate guide to what to pack for a holiday…

What to Pack: The Hand Luggage

What to Pack For a Holiday: The Hand Luggage

Multi Beach Pom Pom Scarf £12, Wooden Hoop Handle Beach Bag £25, Raffia Floppy Hat £20, Pink Cat Eye Sunglasses £8

Whether it’s 1 hour or an 11-hour flight, you never know what you’re going to need, so it’s important to have your hand luggage well-stocked. You need a bag that’s large enough  to fit all your daily essentials, alongside travel must-haves including passport (obviously), toiletries and  the latest can’t-put-down novel. It’s all about straw accessories for SS18 and a woven tote is as stylish as it is practical. As airplanes are notoriously cold, make some extra space in your tote for an oversized scarf to keep cosy during the flight. Don’t forget a pair of sunnies and floppy hat so you can touch down and be ready to face the sunshine immediately (and look chic as you do).

What To Pack: The Holiday-Ready Dress

Lightwash Embroidered Bardot Dress – coming soon

These days the holiday starts at the terminal. While you want to look good, you also need your travel outfit to be practical if you’re going to be sitting on a plane for a few hours! Easy-to-wear yet stylish, a cotton prairie dress is an airport wardrobe winner. It will work just as well once you land, and the embroidery on this version makes it dressy enough for dinner. Accessorise with statement earrings for instant flight-to-fancy restaurant styling. Lightweight cotton clothing is also handy for saving space in your suitcase – just remember to roll, not fold!

What to Pack: The Beach Basics

It’s a fact – you’ll probably spend half your holiday in your swimwear. All the more reason then to stock up on an array of swimsuits and bikinis! Don’t just stick to your tried-and-tested styles, mix it up through the week with a range of designs. From a ruffle bandeau to colourful swimsuits, you’ll be looking perfect poolside, all holiday long. A pair of denim shorts is also a great accompaniment to your beachwear look. Wear them over a bikini for walks along the beach, then dress them up with a pair of heels for seaside cocktails.

What to Pack: The All-Rounder Sandal

Leather ‘Fabia’ Sandals £17

Tight luggage allowances means being strict with what you pack. Sadly this means when it comes to your footwear, taking your entire collection is out of the question! However we think all you need on holiday is a simple sandal (ok, maybe two…) to work effortlessly from day to night. If comfort is high on your priority list, then Greek-style leather flats are the answer. Pick yours in flattering neutrals like black or tan, and add a metallic pair to inject some bohemian glamour to after-dark outfits.

Still have space left in your suitcase? Discover our holiday collection and achieve effortless jet-set styling…
