Style Stories: Isabella Thordsen

Danish travel, style and fashion blogger Isabella Thordsen of @isabellath shares with us her style stories, from all things hygge to her dream travel destination and what she packs in her suitcase along the way…

On what makes the perfect photo…

My favourites are the ‘imperfect’ ones. Less posing, more living. When my boyfriend captures me in my element, whether that’s exploring new destinations, laughing with friends or at a cosy coffee shop having the first sip of my favourite oat-milk flat white. It’s those moments of pure happiness that make the photo.

On what she loves most about her job…

I am forever grateful to have been able to live off my blog since I was 17. Inspiring others by doing what I love the most still blows my mind. I travel the worldsharing fashion, beauty and life advice! It’s so rewarding and I love the way it challenges me to keep improving my skills in both writing and photography.

On the most memorable moment in her career …

Happened just weeks ago. I was with my partner and friends in Lofoten, Norway, on a wild camping adventure, exploring remote islands with just our bags on our backs. The scenery is mind-blowingly beautiful and I felt so unbelievable grateful to have been given the opportunity to see it in all its glory. A true ‘wow’ moment.

On the Danish way of life…

I value staying true to my Danish roots, and hygge is always top of my priority list. When travelling I pack my favourite candles, steal my boyfriend’s woollen jumpers and socks, play soothing music, and ensure there are always good books and snacks to hand.

On what’s always in her carry-on…

I’m always hungry, so have my trusty cashew nuts and dried mango ready for a quick snack. My Canon 5D MKIII camera, with the settings ready to go. My Thermos mug of coffee! (I am the slowest coffee drinker in the world, and sometimes a warm cup can last me a few hours!) Lastly, I always have three or four hats in my carry-on! I love my accessories, and feel that a good hat can provide a different vibe in every photo.

On her next dream travel destination…

I feel so lucky that this year I’ve booked the trip of dreams to Hawaii. It’s somewhere that has always been on my bucket list after seeing the natural beauty of Kuai and Maui across Instagram. As an outdoors girl at heart, I love everything from diving to hiking, and I really want to improve my surfing with a few lessons out there too. Another thing to tick off the bucket list.
