How a Blogger Survives London Fashion Week

Shows, parties, meet-ups and more… London Fashion Week is a busy time to be a blogger. influencer Lucia Grace tells us how she keeps up with the fash-pack…

First Up, the Fashion Week Prep…

“For invites, I decide which shows I’d like to go to around three weeks before and send an email over to the designer’s team, though they don’t always confirm. I often have a load of invites arrive a couple of days before which means my schedule is always finalised at the last minute! I try to time my hair cut and colours around the fashion week season so I’m good to go when it starts. When it comes to styling though, I’m pretty particular so like to get up early and do it myself – same goes for nails and make-up!”

But More Importantly… What to Wear?

“My style is pretty varied, I love dressing up as much as I love dressing down but always include classic pieces, be it a trophy tee (I love this pink ‘Au Revior’ one!), a chic bag or a comfy pair of trainers. At fashion week I like to push the boundaries a bit – this season I’m all about layering – but try and balance this with comfort and warmth (I’m wearing a thermal cami underneath this tee). If you’re cold or have sore feet it’s going to distract you from all the great things going on.”

My Handbag Essentials…

“At London Fashion Week I’m often trying to cram my essentials into a mini handbag so have to be strict. I’ll have my lipstick of the day, concealer for tired eyes, some sunnies, blister plasters (an absolute must) and a bottle of water as it’s so easy to get dehydrated running between shows all day!”

The Tech I Rely On…

“Obviously my smartphone goes without saying. It’s where I live-tweet, upload Instagram updates and manage emails throughout the day. And with that’s there’s my portable charger; I never leave home without it. I also love my Olympus Pen because I can send the photos straight to my phone and upload outfit shots and catwalk show photos on the go.”

Where to Be Seen…

“I get photographed most outside shows which during London Fashion Week can get a little crazy – it’s like street-style photographers vs the London traffic! It’s always good to try and take a break, get a bite to eat and generally re-charge, I spent a lot of time in Australian restaurant Bill’s, they do great coffee and awesome nibbly food. Whenever I’m in London I try to grab brunch at Muriel’s in Soho – it’s my fave.”

And When It’s All Over…

“I find I can barely last through the after-parties, so unless there’s one I really want to go to I’ll head home after my last show to chill out. I’ll light my favourite candle, get in my PJs and edit the day’s content from bed – it’s not all so glamorous!”
