The Christmas outfits bringing us all the joy

The most wonderful time of year calls for some Christmas outfits to match, whether you’re leaving the house or not…

Celebrations may be scaled down, but that doesn’t mean you can’t dress up. In fact, we think that’s the perfect excuse to get in the festive mood (even if you’re just alternating between the kitchen and living room). Small family gathering? Virtual party? Outdoor drinks with friends? Whatever your December diary looks like, we’ve got you covered with our Christmas outfit ideas.

It’s glitz-mas!

Christmas outfitsIf Christmas Day is a big deal at your house, then you’ll definitely want something special to wear. This foil mesh midi dress is just the thing, plus you can wear it again on New Year’s Eve. Add some metallic shoes (we like to call them ‘shoellery’) and sparkly jewellery, because all the trimmings shouldn’t just be reserved for Christmas dinner.

Shine on screen

Christmas outfit ideasDoing most of your celebrations via Zoom this year? Steal the spotlight on virtual catch-ups in a sequin top or a glittery knit. They’ll look cute teamed with leather-look leggings but, as no one will know what you’re wearing from the waist down, could easily be styled with jeans or joggers for a more relaxed version. Enhance the sparkle and shine with face-framing statement earrings.

Too cool for yule

Christmas outfit ideasNovelty knits not for you? No problem. Keep things chic with a PU skirt, roll-neck jumper and ankle boots. Berry tones and gold accents nod to Noel without being overtly festive. Got Christmas Eve plans? Stay warm (and stylish) in an animal print coat. We’re loving this leopard version which acts as an eye-catching neutral and can be worn into the next season too.

Comfort and joy

Loungewear cut-outsSeason’s Greetings (or should that be eatings!?) Christmas is all about indulgence and relaxation, so elasticated waistbands are a must. But since loungewear is pretty much all we’ve worn this year, try elevating lived-in looks with velvety textures and neutral hues — just be careful of the mulled wine…

Baby it’s cold outside

Teddy coat cut-outsHeading outside for a Boxing Day stroll to walk off all those mince pies? You’ll need to take a coat, but make it a teddy coat. And make it pink. Complete the look with a cable-knit jumper, fur-lined hiking boots and a bobble hat. ‘Tis the season to be cosy!
