The autumn/winter trends you’ll wear now and later

women's autumn/winter trends

And just like that, it’s autumn. 2020 has certainly been an interesting one, but one thing we can always rely on is a whole host of new-season trends to try out.

Whether you’re at home or out and about, we’ve got all the essential autumn/winter trends covered. Better yet, we’re giving you the low-down so you know exactly what to add to your shopping list for the pre-Christmas offers just around the corner (yep, the Dorothy Perkins Black Friday sale is only a few weeks away). Time to get organised…

puff sleeve printed dress autumn/winter trend

Puff sleeves

Puff sleeves have been big news for a while and show no signs of going away (or deflating for that matter). Seen on dresses, tops and now knits, this simple yet stylish detailing is an easy way to upgrade any outfit with very little hassle. We’re loving block-coloured tops tucked into faux-leather mini skirts or printed dresses worn with boots. Fill your basket with a few puff-sleeve pieces to wear now, later and probably forever.

Loungewear autumn/winter trend

Loungewear looks

If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that a threadbare, worn-out jogger just isn’t going to cut it on the loungewear scene right now. Since we’re all doing a lot more chilling (and quite rightly so), it seems only natural that our loungewear gets taken up a notch. Invest in cute, super soft two-pieces of marl joggers and sweats, plus knitted midi skirts and matching jumpers. Who says comfort dressing isn’t chic?

Cosy knitwear trends for autumn/winter

Cosy knits

When the temperature drops, you know things are about to get snuggly. So, get yourself familiar with our knitwear collection. Whether you’re after a cardigan for throwing over dresses, a chunky cable knit or a lighter knit made for layering, we’ve got them all. It doesn’t stop there, from on-trend prints to pearl detailing, super-soft knits are seriously big news this season. Fill your basket now and make some room in the wardrobe for the cosiest pieces you’ll ever own.

Knitted top worn with leather look trousers

Faux-fur & PU

Just like jeans-and-a-nice-top, faux-fur and faux-leather are a fashion combo worth their weight in gold. From cosy jackets and leather-look trousers to fur-trimmed puffer coats and PU mini-skirts, this pairing looks just as great together as it does apart. We’re obsessed with PU dresses worn with cute knits and boots, all finished off with a snuggly faux-fur jacket. Best of all, they’re both wardrobe essentials so you’ll be getting your wear out of them for years to come. A true investment piece.

autumn/winter statement top trends

Statement tops

If you buy anything this season, make it a statement top. From romantic ruffles, pretty prints and dreamy detailing, there’s definitely a style out there to suit you. Think collars, pussy-bows and balloon sleeves to take your jeans to the next level. Perfect with denim, faux-leather or a tailored trouser, it’s time to let your top half do the talking, even if you only get to show it off via Zoom.

autumn/winter trends for boots

Ankle boots

Rejoice, its boots season! If there’s one thing we love just as much as new autumn outfits it’s the thrill of buying some new boots. This autumn, we can’t get enough of lace-up biker boots, chunky suede boots and the classic Chelsea boot. They look great paired with simple jeans and a t-shirt or with a cute midi dress and coat for a wintery walk. So much so, we’re planning on snapping up all three styles. Check out our ankle boots round-up for more ways to style yours.

As well as all these wardrobe must-haves, get ready for colder weather and check out our pick of winter coat trends that suit your style and *hint* you might want to sign up for our Cyber Week sale emails to make sure you find out about our biggest and best offers first. You’re welcome.
