Meet Monikh Dale, fashion design graduate turned full time blogger (Tres Monikh), freelance stylist and all-round crusader of everything cool. Here she shows us how to put a feminine twist on the season’s Sport Influence trend.
“With winter around the corner, it’s time to start collecting those trusted sweats. Jumpers have had a revamp this season, with the addition of frills, textures and embellishment. Keep this once-boyish look chic with girly accessories and glittery accents.”
In the Detail
It’s a sweat top, but not as we know it. This season the sporty little jersey knit has had a modern makeover gaining frills, feminine accents and piles of prettiness. We’re talking lace panels, patterns and ruffles to lend a romantic vibe to off-duty dressing.
“The black bodycon dress is the ultimate style staple! It’s an incredible base which can easily be dressed up or down. For a dressier look, pair with metallic Mary-Janes and throw on that AW16 essential, the bomber jacket, for an urban edge.”

Monikh’s Style Tips
How do you ensure that your dressed-down look still has a fashion twist?
“The accessories finish off a casual look. A grey t-shirt and jeans can be lifted with an embellished bag or a trophy jacket. I love this kind of style because I feel it holds the most power. Simplicity is noticeable.”
When dressing up, what is key for nailing feminine style?
“The simplicity. Keep the accessories minimal and the look slightly casual. Sexiness comes from being a powerful looking women in the basics.”
Do you have a signature wardrobe colour palette?
Are there any AW16 details that are a must for every wardrobe?
“Embroidery has carried on into AW16 and it’s looking super-strong. Grab anything with it on, from jackets to boots or bags."
“I love this super-relaxed sporty-meets-tailored mix. The oversized shirt in that pink stripe is perfect for London weather and the roll-up on the jeans adds to the causal sporty vibe.”
“I used to stick to black, white and grey, then the summer season changed me. I still have those shades as a base but I no longer feel afraid to add accents, like the pink pinstripe shirt, or the bomber jacket with pink embroidery.”
