A Flattering Fit

We dress women of all shapes and sizes and have dedicated Tall, Curve, Petite and Maternity ranges. Size is just a number. A feminine, flattering fit is what we strive for and our mantra is that if you feel good you should wear it.

The Whole Outfit

A dress makes every occasion special, and it’s one of the things we do best. But what’s a dress without the shoes? And what about those laid-back-denim days? If you fall in love with a top at DP, you can be sure we’ve got the shoes, bag, coat, jeans and jewellery to go with it.

Style Inspiration

We’re there for you, whatever the occasion with advice and outfit ideas. Date-night dresses - we’ve got it covered. The tricky interview outfit - no problem. Wondering what to wear to a wedding? Ta-Dah! Making shopping easier gives you more time to do the things you love - and that’s always a good thing.

New Ideas

We love all things ‘new’. New clothes, new outfits, new ideas. And you’ll find hundreds of new arrivals every week waiting to inspire your next outfit. From signature prints, to catwalk-inspired looks and the season’s key pieces, we’ll make sure you don’t miss a thing.

We first opened our doors under the name ‘Ladies Hosiery and Underwear Limited’, dressing women from all walks of life.

Dorothy Perkins expanded quickly opening 12 shops in its first 10 years. The impressively priced five-shilling (25 pence) blouses were introduced and great value has been at our heart ever since.

The trading name 'Dorothy Perkins' was adopted, suggested by the director’s wife and inspired by a British rambling rose. At the start of the Second World War Dorothy Perkins was trading from 75 stores.

Dorothy Perkins opened its 250th shop. There was now a Dorothy Perkins on most British High Streets. Cash registers were also introduced into all our stores.

Beginning a six-year relationship with Biba, Dorothy Perkins bought a controlling stake in the famous clothes company. Dorothy Perkins sold Biba make-up from its own stores and funded the opening of 'Big Biba', an iconic store on Kensington High Street, complete with its own roof gardens and pink flamingos.

Dorothy Perkins acquired its first store on the most famous shopping street of them all - Oxford Street, London. At 7,500 ft this shop became the largest Dorothy Perkins store.

The 'Secrets' lingerie and nightwear range was introduced into Dorothy Perkins and was an instant hit.

The Dorothy Perkins 'Maternity' range was introduced into selected stores

We became one of the first companies to harness the power of celebrity by choosing Helena Christensen as the 'face' of Dorothy Perkins with the campaign strapline 'where you can afford to look good'.

Yasmin Le Bon joined Helena Christensen as another 'face' of Dorothy Perkins.

The 'Petite' range was introduced.

dorothyperkins.com opened for business, meaning customers could shop our collections 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our 'Tall' range arrived in selected stores.

Dorothy Perkins launched its first TV advert.

Dorothy Perkins raised over £1 million for Breast Cancer Care through the sales of pink wristbands in stores. During a 10-year partnership, we’ve raised more than £3 million for the charity.

We enlisted the help of TV personality Gok Wan to offer style advice via the website, emails and in-store radio.

Dorothy Perkins teamed up with sisters Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian to bring the exclusive ‘Kardashian Kollection’ fashion range to the UK. The range, which included more than 100 unique designs, was sold in Dorothy Perkins UK stores, international outlets and online at dorothyperkins.com

Dorothy Perkins continued to expand internationally with 125 outlets in countries including Spain, Gibraltar, Cyprus, Turkey and Singapore.

Dorothy Perkins launched its DP Curve collection in sizes 18-28, specially designed to fit and flatter a curvier figure.
